During the construction of the new My Place Hotel in Twin Falls, Idaho – management came to Tech Strategies for a proposal for a phone system for their guest rooms and hotel staff (like the front desk, management, etc.). TSI took on the challenge and provided a proposal that came in well below competing products using the 3CX phone system and Fanvil IP Phones.
TSI is very familiar with the 3CX phone system and has worked with it in a variety of installations for larger offices where our hosted PBX solution VentureTel wasn’t as good a fit. 3CX has the ability to integrate with most hotel property management solutions and integrating with the My Place Hotel PMS was pretty simple and allows guest rooms phones to be updated with the name of the guest on the phone helping to make their stay more personal. In addition when a guest calls the front desk, the Guest name pops up on the phone and the front desk computer so that the hotel staff can better personalize their stay.
One of the challenges with the 3CX phone system that the hotel management wanted was an alert when a guest dialed 911. 3CX does that out of the box via email, but when things are busy an email like that might not get seen immediately and would not be good in an emergency situation. Management wanted the front desk to ring and alert them via voice that a 911 called was placed and what room it was.
TSI was able to accomplish this by integrating with Zapier using their SMS by Zapier feature which also allows a voice message to be sent with a text to speech message. So when 911 is dialed from a guest room, the email is dispatch to Zapier and Zapier immediately calls the front desk with a friendly female voice that tells them 911 has been dialed from room ###.
Over all My Place was very pleased with the installation of the phone system not only because of the great array of features required by a hotel, but by the price and TSI awesome customer service.
